About My Clients
I treat adults navigating mood disorders, attention deficit disorder, grief, relationship challenges, and what I like to call "adulting."
My Background and Approach
I attended University of Maryland School of Social Work and earned a Master's of Social Work with a focus in behavioral health. I previously worked as a therapist in a mental health outpatient center and in private practice. I utilize many different modalities to tailor-make the therapy process for each individual client. I mainly pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative and Grief Therapy. I guide my clients to evaluate thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so they can make active changes in their lives and build sustainable skills to feel better and progress in a healthy way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Finding a good therapist is like shopping for a good pair of shoes. Why, you might ask. It’s all about the fit. You usually choose shoes that are most comfortable and suit you best. Whether you may have gone to a therapist before or have never been – whether you had awful experiences in the past or none at all. Successful therapy is about finding the right fit; about finding a relationship where you have a safe space to bring any and all of your feelings and challenges. As a therapist, I provide a nonjudgmental and objective environment, with lots of humor and (some) quirkiness. While this step may feel overwhelming and scary, reaching out and taking the first step shows your strength and courage to live the life you want - on your terms. So, let’s get started.
