About My Clients
My clients are millennials who are having a hard time finding meaningful connections. They appear to have it all but are desperately yearning for a deeper understanding of themselves and others. My clients are those struggling with imposter syndrome due to various reasons including being the first generation to complete higher education.
My Background and Approach
I utilize tools that help clients by giving them the autonomy to heal themselves through introspection and silence. I pursued a masters in family therapy because the general approach to individual issues is uniquely different than that of social work and counselors. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I view issues as problems within a bigger picture. I take into account a person's experiences as well as the systems they encounter daily and work to tailor a therapeutic experience that will bring about lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a woman of color moving through this world, there have been times where I was deemed by others to not belong in a certain space or conversation. That has fueled me to empower others to 'reclaim their time' in ways that may not be obvious to those who have not lived through similar experiences. I offer a diverse perspective to the way I view mental health because I have had to overcome cultural disagreements as a first generation American. I was raised on the premise that mental health was just a spiritual battle that one needed to submit to God in order to be cured. I offer my clients space to bring God into the therapy room by offering a fresh narrative of what mental health and emotional wellness means.
