About My Clients
Whether it is guiding a recent graduate through the transition to adulthood, helping a new mom cope with the demands of parenthood, or walking with someone in the midst of grief, I am here to help you work through the unique challenges of your stage of life. I am passionate about helping work through life's many transitions to find a place of joy and contentment.
My Background and Approach
During our time together, I will utilize a blend of evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment-Focused Therapy and Solution-Focused therapy. A biblical perspective is also available, if requested. I believe that therapy should also include practical strategies that engage our minds and bodies. This could look like practicing breathing exercises together, implementing stretching during session or spending time in nature.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Prior to becoming licensed, I spend the majority of my career working with the child welfare system with kids who had been impacted by trauma. My experience in that field and further training in Trust Based Relational Intervention and Attachment theory has led me to a desire to work with adults. I know that what we experience in our childhood has a profound impact on how we view ourselves and the world around us. When we reflect and consider these things, then we can move forward with security. Additionally, I am a follower of Jesus Christ and believe that His word offers a wealth of insight that can be utilized in the therapy process. If requested, session can include prayer and a biblical perspective.
