About My Clients
I work with anyone who wants to focus on undersstanding the relationships they are involved in, helping people better understand and connect with each other. We look at the unhelpful patterns and negative assumptions that relationships often get stuck in and try to work on communicating more directly to express needs and empathy towards others.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in Family Systems Therapy. I have a M.S. in MFT from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. I have taught Family Therapy for 12 years at Nazareth College, and have worked with families and children for over 45 years, first as an educator and then as a therapist. My approach is a strength based, collaborative approach, helping you discover the patterns that you are in and deciding goals together on which issues you want to focus.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have always been someone who is very dedicated to family. I have been happily married for 47 years, have 3 married children with 5 grandchildren. We have moved to live near our children so that we can help care for our grandchildren and be in their lives regularly.
