About My Clients
As a woman, mother and professional, I work w/children, families, parents, couples & individuals. I understand issues both personally and professionally. I am a fully trained Gottman therapist, as well as couples and addiction, affairs and trauma recovery. I am experienced and trained in family estrangement. I am a certified grief educator. I am trained and experienced with 12 step models, SMART recovery and Celebrate recovery to address addiction issues and more.
My Background and Approach
Having spent 20 years of my life as a working mother, I raised 4 healthy, happy & successful children & now enjoy GRANDparenting. I am trained in Positive Parenting Solutions. I have my Masters in Social Work (LCSW-C) & am a Board approved supervisor. I have worked with addicts & their families at Pathways & Chrysalis House treatment centers. I am trained & experienced in the 12 step model of addictions as well as SMART Recovery. I have worked for Villa Maria of Catholic Charities for almost 12 years, a non-profit, where I was assigned to 4 public schools & was a supervisor, helping children, families, colleagues & supervisees navigate life. I am trained & experienced as a trauma informed & fully trained Gottman therapist, as well as couples in addiction, affairs and trauma recovery. I am trained in family estrangement (Josh Coleman) and Grief. I love people, am deeply compassionate & care about health & wellness! I genuinely advocate & promote what is best for my clients!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Christian but promote acceptance for all people to find and use what works for them. As the 12 steps teach, "the God of my understanding" is the spiritual premise for health and recovery. The 12 steps teach, "to thine own self be true" and I genuinely want what is best for my clients. The answers for my clients lie within them, I simply come alongside and help people find the answers they are seeking to have their best life. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy and having a safe place to be real, heard, accepted and understood.
