About My Clients
I work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and other issues related to their relationships, family, or daily living. During our initial session, we will delve into the issues at hand, collaborate together to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back.
My Background and Approach
My approach is strength-based and person-centered. I work with ages 6 and up, with a particular focus on adolescents, teens, and adults. I believe the client should be in charge of the sessions, the goals, and the direction therapy takes them. Starting anything can be daunting — I am here to assist you in feeling more confident and comfortable with the process. Together, we can identify obtainable goals and work toward them in a comfortable and accepting environment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Life is a road full of challenges, accomplishments, and set backs. We all struggle with different things at different times. Each of us goes through life differently, they are affected differently as individuals. It is my belief that how a person feels is valid and unique to them. It is how we respond to those feelings, the thoughts we develop due to them, that change behaviors from healthy to unhealthy and vice versa. There is never a limit on when change can happen, there is never a prescription that can fix unhealthy learned behaviors over night. I do believe, however, that having positive supports and a tool box of effective coping skills can make a difference. I have suffered through depression, anxiety, and the feeling of not fitting in, and, to some extent do still today. But, I learned coping skills and management to help me on that journey. Now, my goal is to help others develop those skills. Together, we can make positive changes and build strong clarity within the mind.
