About My Clients
My clients want to find their calling in life: to develop their unique talents, to be creative and to find meaningful work to be of service to their community and to our fragile earth home. They are spiritual and want a therapy that includes their values and longings. They like therapy that helps them heal wounds of the past and turn those experiences into compassion for others. And they like therapy that can be fun and uses humor as a means to break through over thinking and overdoing!
My Background and Approach
My approach is very eclectic , designed to meet clients where they are at. I have had a broad background of life experience. training as a Zen Buddhist monk for ten years, founding and running a landscape design / build contracting business for thirty years and being a spiritually based licensed psychotherapist and spiritual mentor for the last 25 years. My training in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica was foundational to my work with clients. Because of that open hearted , love focused training, I am open to many types of spirituality and truly enjoy helping clients find their purpose and meaning in life. I believe an open, love based spirituality is a vital part of our lives and my approach as a therapist, mentor or life coach brings my client's spiritual resources into the work of healing and personal growth. This has been my life's path and I love sharing it with my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe our connection to the Loving Source are what bring out the better angels of our nature. As human beings, we often start out life with less than ideal parents and living situations, but we can overcome past hurts and traumas by learning to love ourselves fully, warts and all. We eventually find that, paradoxically, what we once felt were our inadequacies and even our so called failures are what eventually lead us to the truth of who we are: spiritual beings having and using a human experience to fully realize who we are: loving itself. This has been my experience in over 80 years of living and I love to share what I have learned with you - and to learn from you what your experience is like in this challenging world we are living in today!
