About My Clients
My clients tend to be people with dissociative disorders and a history of complex trauma. Many struggle with self-harm, suicidality, flashbacks, sensory issues, feeding and eating disorders, as well as a host of complex chronic illnesses such as MCAS, EDS, CRPS, ME, MG, fibro, POTS, and more. Despite these challenges, they are highly intelligent and creative individuals who enjoy engaging in different modes of communication such as art, sandtray, drama therapy, and sound and movement.
My Background and Approach
I spend a lot of time in my own life trying to heal through talking but it wasn't until I found other ways to communicate the unspeakable that I began to breathe again and find hope. Through my schooling in undergrad with a focus on neuropsychology and trauma into graduate school where I participated in not only my CACREP accredited clinical counseling program but an alternative training program for drama therapists and a specialty within drama therapy for a trauma-focused modality called Developmental Transformations (DvT), the goal was to find ways to integrate all of it in the best ways I could to help trauma survivors. I am a nationally certified counselor. I use sandtray, drama therapy, art, sound and movement along with some handy CBT/DBT framework and skills to help clients build a positive relationship, feel safe enough, and move into telling their stories and processing them in a healthy way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am part of the LBGTQiA++ community. I support trans individuals. I support BLM. I support social justice. I support immigrants. I volunteer my clinical time to the Emotional-PPE project and the Open Path Collective.
