About My Clients
Sometimes in life, we are faced with certain challenges and do not know how to overcome them. Have you ever experienced someone that ghosted you or have you wondered if someone you love or care about is gaslighting you? These factors can cause stress, anger, anxiety, depression, isolation, or a mixture of emotions. These emotions may cause difficulty in making decisions. As a counselor, I am nonjudgmental and will actively listen to you. I understand how challenges can affect our daily lives.
My Background and Approach
I have a MA in Rehabilitation Counseling and Community Inclusion. This degree enabled me to be able to serve diverse populations of clients to evaluate individual needs, plan and implement interventions. I have a BS in psychology (Human Development) and I am a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. My experience as a therapist has enhanced my skills as a counselor because it has allowed me to look at each individual holistically (mentally, physically, and emotionally). I have experience working with diverse populations of clients that have physical challenges. My counseling style is warm and genuine. Rapport building is important to me so the client is comfortable with sharing his/her life stories. I will actively listen and ask questions to get clarification. I am not judgmental. My approach can combine clients centered therapy, cognitive therapy, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness therapy.
