About My Clients

I work with adult clients experiencing the following concerns: anxiety and mild-to-moderate depression (especially related to self-worth, loneliness, impostor syndrome, online and IRL dating frustrations); challenges managing ADHD, stressors stemming from the immigrant experience; intergenerational/multicultural dynamics; grief and loss; and the challenges of being a Highly Sensitive Person.

My Background and Approach

I prefer to view therapy as a brainstorming session during which we take a fresh look at the landscape of your life, identify and develop your strengths, and explore more helpful options for being you. While I always tailor my techniques to meet my clients’ unique needs, I tend to identify with the following areas of talk therapy: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (addresses how thoughts, emotions, and actions interact); Experiential Therapy (focuses on the importance of emotional expression); Internal Family Systems (heals wounded parts and brings harmony to all parts within you); Narrative Therapy (you rewrite your story or “narrative” and we deconstruct dominant sociocultural narratives). Additionally, I heavily incorporate themes of self-compassion, mindfulness (paying close attention to the present moment without judgment), radical acceptance (i.e., accepting our reality), self-advocacy, and positive communication skills.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Here are some of my beliefs that inform my practice (I have many, many more...): (1) Everyone has worth as they are, regardless of what happened in the past or the changes they wish to make now and in the future. (2) Our worth does not depend on our physical appearance, income, social status, relationship status, whether we have children or not, possessions, and anything else that has been historically tied to a person's worth. We have worth because we exist. (3) We are infinitely multifaceted beings and reductive terms such as "good" or "bad" aren't helpful ways to describe ourselves. (4) Everyone deserves to be in relationships where they feel *emotionally safe.* (5) Living our truth is a gift we give to ourselves. (6) Communicating our truth to the people we care about is a gift we give to them.
