About My Clients
I specialize in working with queer and gender-expansive adults. My work focuses on supporting clients navigating trauma, identity exploration, and relationship challenges, especially those shaped by experiences of marginalization, coming out, or gender transition. I understand how systemic oppression and invalidation can impact self-worth, connection, and emotional safety, and I strive to create a space where you feel seen and affirmed.
My Background and Approach
My approach integrates strengths-based and liberation-oriented frameworks, drawing from internal family systems, attachment theory, art therapy, and motivational interviewing. I am also certified to instruct trauma-informed yoga, and I value incorporating mind–body practices when helpful to support grounding, regulation, and reconnection with the self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy should be accessible to all identities, and work beyond individual change to challenge the environmental barriers that people experience. As an active member of the LGBTQ community, I partner with our local LGBTQ resources center to expand access for queer folks in the Champaign-Urbana area.
