About My Clients
My clients are a wide array of people from young to older, with all walks of life and experiences. I host sessions for a variety of conditions and concerns, as well as to ensure things are going right. Whether for long-term therapy or solution-focused check-ins, chronic conditions, medical or emotional trauma, life transitions, or even just processing a one-time situation, my doors are always open for you.
My Background and Approach
My backgrounds are in clinical social work (therapy with great attention to social and environmental influences), expressive art therapies (because sitting on a leather couch is boring), and integrated behavioral health (so we create treatments that help the whole person feel healthier in mind and body). My doctorate helped me practice research to formulate these types of approaches in medical clinics across the country, and my licensure has given me nearly 10 years of service to the NJ community. The approach I use is relatively open-ended, compassionate, and friendly. I realize not all therapy will look the same based on a client’s preferences and interests, so it’s important to me that everyone I work with feels like they’re ‘in the driver’s seat’ of their care and always get choices about how we go about betterment. We have a little bit of everything from that traditional conversation to the full breadth of creative modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the best therapy is one where people feel safe and reassured. As a standard, nobody gets judged. Every client is the center of their own treatment with no exceptions. Choice is a powerful first move in free expression and strengthening a client’s personal narrative. We always have a place to start :) As for me, I am a major community activist, historian, and a nerd for all sorts of art. I love being a ‘life enthusiast’ and trying new things, enjoying the moment, and gardening when the season allows.
