About My Clients
Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, or life’s unexpected challenges? Perhaps you’re exhausted from appearing strong while struggling inside. You don’t have to face it alone. I work with individuals navigating emotional pain, difficult relationships, major life transitions, and feelings of hopelessness. Together, we’ll uncover your strengths, develop practical coping skills, and create a path toward healing, resilience, and renewed purpose. Your story isn’t over.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience spanning mental health, education, and ministry, I bring professional expertise and genuine compassion to every session. My background in counseling, chaplaincy, and community mental health has shaped my belief that healing involves the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing, tailored to your individual needs. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and grounded in practical strategies you can use beyond our sessions. Having personally navigated life-altering adversity, I understand that healing isn’t always linear. I offer a supportive, judgment-free space where your experiences are respected, your strengths are recognized, and faith can be incorporated when desired. Together, we’ll work toward meaningful, lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every person deserves dignity, respect, love, and the freedom to live authentically. My personal and professional values are rooted in compassion, social justice, equality, and the belief that our differences enrich humanity rather than divide us. As a Black mental health professional, I recognize how racism, discrimination, systemic oppression, and marginalization affect emotional well-being. I support racial equity, LGBTQ+ rights, and the importance of creating affirming spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. My Christian faith inspires my commitment to love and service, never judgment or exclusion. I respect every client’s spiritual beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, and personal journey. Having experienced profound adversity myself, I believe in resilience, restoration, and the possibility of meaningful change. Above all, I believe you should never have to hide who you are to receive compassion, acceptance, or quality mental health care.
