About My Clients

You love being a parent! You try your best. And sometimes, it feels overwhelming. I help parents who are partnered, separated, or divorced co-parent as a team and trust their choices. From navigating the bedtime routine of a not-sleepy 3 year old, or a teenager dealing with cyber-bullying , we look at strategies you can use today. How can we prioritize our children, keep them emotionally safe and happy, going through a divorce or moving to a new town? By request, glad to meet with your child.

My Background and Approach

The parenting roller coaster ride can be amazingly fun, or utterly exhausting! You try your best, yet sometimes feel overwhelmed. You deserve a life which feels balanced, energized, and fun. Our goal is to work together to identify new tools for your "parenting toolkit" which you can use immediately to positively impact your child's behavioral issues. Partnered or as a sole parent, we work to identify your unique parenting style and the challenges you are navigating. I have over 25 years of experience working with parents in schools, family court, and community settings. Mindfulness + positive discipline are two approaches I integrate. You choose the parenting compass bearing, and I help chart to a course to get there.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My roots as a Counselor go back to a humanistic course of study with a focus on unconditional acceptance, authenticity in relationship (good vibes), and a client centered philosophy, focused on here and now and promoting self-expression and direction. I have "been there" as a divorced father, working to positively co-parent two dynamic children. Being a father has been such a transformative experience! I continue to learn from my children. I am dedicated to creating an inclusive space. As an advocate of social and racial justice, I say with no reservations, that Black Lives Matter! Welcoming to all sexual orientations, cultures, colors, and creeds. I'm passionate about outdoor play, reducing climate change, and protecting wild places. When not counseling/coaching --- I could be hiking/skiing in the Cascade Mountains, windsurfing in the Columbia Gorge, or exploring the Oregon Coast. Nature balances me; and I weave it regularly into my life.
