My Background and Approach
I am a licensed to practice in the State of Florida as a psychotherapist. I graduated with a Master in Clinical Social Work from Florida Gulf Coast University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, trauma, abuse, intimacy related issues, anxiety, depression, anger management addictions and more. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage, and I am here to help. I use CBT techniques, with a person-centered, solution-focused approach. I believe your thoughts have power over your perceptions and behaviors, and if we increase your mindfulness/self-awareness, we can identify the source of the problem.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Before my studies at FGCU, I was in the rental business and felt that I was in my calling when I did volunteer work helping people in the US and abroad. After much thought and consulting with family and friends, I decided I wanted to work more hands on helping hurting people through counseling. My philosophy is ultimately to make a difference in the world by helping hurting people. I believe we are all born with a purpose to make the world a better place. Sometimes, many of us while growing up knew exactly what we wanted to be or do. For others, it is a process of self-discovery. I help individuals, groups, and families make sense, find harmony, peace and purpose in their lives.
