About My Clients
My patients are usually driven and intelligent individuals prone to perfectionism. They may be dealing with burnout or exhaustion, to the point where they are sleeping poorly, not doing well with friends or family. or just feeling stuck. If you're processing something traumatic, dealing with work stress, managing depression, anxiety, or chronic illness, we might be a good match. I especially welcome Asian-American and Desi clients navigating identity, family expectations, and cultural pressures.
My Background and Approach
I enjoy working with individuals with depression, anxiety, and caregiver stress. I often work with individuals with chronic illness (insomnia, gastrointestinal disorders, low back pain, diabetes) and with caregivers of older adults with dementia. I also see pregnant individuals and new parents dealing with pregnancy-related and post-partum depression. Regardless of the problem, it's important to me that we have clear goals with check-ins every so often to make sure we are making progress, and that the therapy we do is strongly supported by research and rooted in your values. You bring a lot of wisdom within you, and I will meet you there with compassion and humor. I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University. My experiences have spanned individual therapy for individuals with moderate to severe mood disorders (depression, schizophrenia, OCD, anxiety), neuropsychological assessment for dementia and traumatic brain injury, and trauma-informed care for veterans.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a recently graduated clinician working toward my independent license, I bring in all the doctoral level training (PhD in Clinical Psychology) but at a reduced rate. If you are a student, early-career professional, or un/underinsured, you can see me for therapy at $150/hr, a lower-than-market rate, while still getting high-quality, evidence-supported treatment. Everyone deserves the best care available, regardless of insurance or income level. If this rate is too high for you, still reach out. We may be able to work out a sliding scale rate. My parents immigrated to the United States in the 90s. My blended cultural identity of American culture and Indian heritage is one I am very proud to own. I spend a lot of energy exploring the privileges and biases that come along with this identity. I cherish the opportunity to work with and advocate for clients with complex, rich cultural identities as well.
