About My Clients
Everyone experiences struggles unique to them. My goal is to provide a safe space for individual to explore their struggles and express themselves authentically. Human connection is a foundational part of our lives and I emphasize the importance of the therapeutic relationship as I seek to build trust with my clients and provide a non-judgmental space for individuals to start to heal the ruptures that they have experienced throughout their lives.
My Background and Approach
I specialize on working with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, gender dysphoria/identity issues, sexuality, grief and the struggles and stressors of everyday life. I assume a trauma-informed perspective and carefully work with clients to begin to understand the ways that their trauma have influenced them. I take an integrated approach to therapy, incorporating techniques and modalities from Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT) and existential theories. Additionally, I care deeply about the issues surrounding the LGBTQ+ community and utilize queer and feminist theories to help untangle the influence that societal and familial structures have on their mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that many individuals have the tools they need to begin healing, but have had difficulties utilizing them due to the struggles they have experienced throughout their lives. By providing individuals with a safe, inclusive, and validating space, I believe that individuals can be empowered to express themselves in an authentic manner and begin to thrive in all aspects of their life.
