My Background and Approach
I obtained my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University, Honolulu. I am a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Hawaii and an International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I hold a License for Professional Counseling and Addiction Counseling in the State of Colorado. I have worked with a variety of clients in the community and private settings across the country; integrating culture, belief exploration, and religious framework with psychotherapy. My intensive program and all my work experience has developed me professionally but has also continued to help me grow personally. Developing and fostering the sacred space between individuals provides the freedom to explore one’s inner-world and opportunity to practice new tools and chose the direction of their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer, single mother of color, I have experienced many struggles that my clients have gone through. Once I was able to love myself, my worth no longer was dependent on anything outside myself. I specialize in working on with individuals to gain the skills to thrive in relationship with themselves and others.
