About My Clients
My clients are the people everyone else leans on. Entrepreneurs, leaders, helping professionals, caregivers, and achievers who've spent years putting everyone else first. On the outside, things look great. On the inside, there's anxiety that won't quit, a body that's keeping score, and relationships that feel lopsided. They know something needs to change, they're just not sure how to put themselves on their own to-do list.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Multnomah University and a Certified Professional Coach. I founded Refuge Counseling & Wellness in Vancouver, WA because I believe therapy should be a place of genuine comfort and clarity, not just another obligation. I'm fully trained in EMDR through EMDRIA, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and am certified in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Alpha-Stim technology. I also draw from attachment-focused, somatic, narrative, psychodynamic, and art-based approaches. I've spent most of my continuing education going deep on trauma and chronic symptoms because that's where my clients need the most skilled support. My style is warm, direct, and grounded. I lead with curiosity and compassion, and I'm not afraid to bring humor into the room. I feel honored to sit with my clients through some of the most tender and important moments of their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I got into this work because I've seen firsthand what happens when high-capacity people finally get the support they deserve. Everything shifts. I believe healing isn't just about reducing symptoms; it's about reconnecting with who you actually are underneath the roles you play. Outside of the therapy room, I'm usually on the water paddleboarding, working in my mini-homestead garden, or having a kitchen dance party with my husband and our two kids (and our dog, who has no rhythm but plenty of enthusiasm). I practice yoga, create art, and love gardening.
