About My Clients
I work with adults who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or whose traditional coping mechanisms aren't working. Whether you have experienced a transition(s) in your life, grief and loss, or trauma, or all of the above I will meet you where you're at. Together we will help you connect with your intuitive wisdom and creativity, build on your strengths, and learn mindfulness and healing practices for navigating change. I will be there supporting you in your next right step.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist I promote talk therapy and creative expression as methods for healing, empowerment and life enhancement. My focus is to be a conduit for compassion, grace, and healing. In therapy sessions, clients use talk therapy and/or art materials and techniques to explore emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects in order to access their innate wisdom and healing potential. By providing a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients there is an invitation to enter a path into curiosity, discovery, and enrichment which presents openings for change and growth. I have experience in private practice, as well as, facilitating art therapy sessions and counseling for groups and individuals in residential treatment, and as an adjunct faculty member with Adler University, Chicago. Other areas of expertise include facilitating workshops on grief and loss, mindfulness, creativity & trauma recovery.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that healing is possible. Creativity helped me to heal and continues to provide opportunities for my healing. I believe that everyone is creative, even if you've not tapped into creativity since you were a child! I believe in human rights and inclusivity, I support Black Lives Matter, the LGBTQ community, and people with disabilities.
