About My Clients
I work from trauma-informed approaches including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) along with Relational, Somatic, and Internal Family System (IFS) frameworks. I also bring a healthy dose of humor, metaphor, and directness to help clients explore their inner world and move toward their goals. My practice centers LGBTQIA+ clients and my work as a therapist is rooted in anti-racism, body neutrality, & disability justice frameworks, with an emphasis on collective care.
My Background and Approach
I received my masters in Clinical Mental Health from Adams State University and have been practicing as a therapist since 2019. Prior to working in mental health, I worked as an advocate for the unhoused population in non-profit spaces. I also spent time writing and facilitating trainings in the NYC tech start-up world. These experiences gave me unique insight into the impact of high-pressure work cultures, burnout, and oppressive inequality under capitalism. My experience as a therapist includes working primarily with queer and neurodivergent adults healing from high pressure or high control upbringings. My work is trauma-informed through Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) frameworks.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe an anti-oppressive framework grounded in principles of abolition and communal healing is crucial to holistic therapeutic work. While my work is informed by the various aspects of my identity, I also recognize the lived experiences of others in the LGBTQ2IA+ community are immensely diverse. You are the expert of your experience, and I celebrate the unique wisdom you will bring to our work together. Therapy is a partnership. Together we will create a space that fosters healing, exploration, and growth through the use of humor, directness, and honesty.
