My Background and Approach
My clinical training is in Couple and Family therapy, which emphasized systems theory. That is to say, I approach each individual with the understanding of all the factors that inform what is bringing them to therapy: cultural location, trauma experiences, all the systems they have experienced and are involved in, and their experiences with their family of origin. I use a trauma informed lens and focus on building felt safety. My yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices all inform my approach, and I incorporate each of these into my sessions.
