About My Clients
I specialize in working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma — whether from a single event or ongoing stress — and who may be carrying that pain in their bodies, behavior, or relationships, and those who experience emotional dysregulation, poor self-control, poor social skills, and/or poor self-esteem. I also partner closely with caregivers, providing tools and insight to support your child outside of the therapy session.
My Background and Approach
For the past 15 years, I have worked in youth mental health settings, ranging from school-based therapy to crisis residential. I have been a licensed mental health counselor for 12 years, with an additional two years of internships with this population, and one year working as a supervisor for a crisis residential unit. I am passionate about working with youth and their caregivers. I am always excited to begin working with new clients and to witness their progress and success. Using a warm, strengths-based approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care, I help young clients understand their emotions, shift unhelpful thought patterns, and develop healthy coping skills. I tailor therapy to fit your child’s developmental needs, incorporating creativity, play, and movement as needed to help them express what words can’t always capture.
