About My Clients
I have a passion for helping people and have used a range of modalities including Trauma Recovery, Solution Focus, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive- Behavioral Therapist, Systematic Desensitization and Aversion Therapy. I believe therapy should fit the individual not the reverse. I have developed the skill to successfully assess the proper intervention to heal painful past and present experience.
My Background and Approach
A true challenge and success of my career is working with an adopted family of 14 children. The children were from two different backgrounds and experienced a wide range of trauma and neglect. Today, they are all adults and have adjusted well using trauma recovery by drawings traumatic events, sex education, crisis prevention intervention and Gestalt therapy. I’ve provided key concepts and therapeutic techniques to individuals addicted to drugs and alcohol. Working with the judicial system, juveniles have received treatment with my help to reduce the number of incarcerations by introducing rational emotive therapy to identify self defeating thoughts and feelings. Facilitating group therapy for individuals who are in active crisis as to reduce hospitalization and “out of home” placement. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation. I received training and am certified in suicide prevention. In addition, I have received training and certification for Trauma and DBT
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone struggles to fit in, develop loving relationships and grow as individuals. The difference is not everyone is given the opportunity and skill to explore, expand and develop these relationships. One day, I believe there will be a paradise where everyone is truly happy, kind and living as “One”. Until then, we will need therapy to help us adjust to these unhealthy relationships and past trauma.
