About My Clients
I work with Partners/Couples, Children & Teens, and Individuals who seek a deeper exploration of meaning in their life. Often, clients find me after years of the typical CBT approach and finding it mechanistic and one-size-fits-all. I work with trauma healing, soothing and holding the child within to find outer expression and make new decisions. I work with sensitive children and teens who feel overwhelmed or othered, having difficulties with school and acting out. LGBTQIA+ supportive care.
How I Can Help You
I come from a holistic healing background of 41-years, with two master’s degrees in psychology and education/teaching, medical school training as a pediatric orthotist/prosthetist, and ongoing psychoanalytic training at the C. G. Jung Institute, Zurich. As my background attests, I come from a wide lens of study and my clients tend to be those deeply seeking meaningful connection in a scattered world. I came to practice depth psychology after a decade of working with children in rehabilitation hospitals and then another decade teaching science and English language development (ELD) in K-12 public schools. My background began with children’s developmental processes, creative activities and play therapy, but along the way I found that adults are also needing to engage the repressed and younger parts of themselves. Often the portal to healing is to engage with the unconscious: The adult soul craves creative experience, whether it’s analyzing dreams, or dialoguing in a new kind of therapy.
Why I am a Good Fit for You
My beliefs include that an “acting-out child is a misunderstood child”. If we attune to that experience that we were all children once, we can validate that within adults are the unresolved issues that could not be held by the adults around us at the time of our childhoods. These ‘complexes’ became our triggers, and if we are unable to process them psychologically or relationally we see them in the next generation of our children. Whether working as therapist, educator, or medical practitioner, my dedication has been towards a greater understanding and healing of life’s traumas, large and small. In my ongoing training to become an IAAP Jungian Analyst, my life’s work is culminating in existential experiences of creating my own art, delving into fairy tales towards understanding dreams (and motivations) on archetypal levels, exploring international cultures, mythologies, and spiritualities, where again we can witness Carl Jung’s vision of the archetypes of the collective unconscious.
