About My Clients
Invisible Wounds Therapy and Wellness strives to help individuals overcome their trauma and move ahead in their lives. We offer clients relief from difficult emotions and provide them with an empathetic space for healing and growth. Most of our clients are first responders, helpers or healers and tend to consider themselves "anxious professionals." Others are couples or teens hoping to gain a broader perspective, effective communication or expression of emotions skills.
My Background and Approach
The therapists at Invisible Wounds Therapy and Wellness practice many evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy modalities. Clients can benefit from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which leverages the brain’s natural functions to place trauma reactions and painful memories in the past. Clients can also benefit from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which are thought-based therapy approaches that help decrease negative self-talk like criticism or shame often rooted in trauma. These therapies are helpful for those who have difficulty falling or staying asleep, and those whose "over- thinking" or constant worry negatively impact their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Invisible Wounds Therapy and Wellness identifies trauma as anything that has left a negative impact on you. No experience is too small or large to deserve healing. Moreover, we strive to provide a warm, safe and empathic platform for ALL clients, no matter your background, cultural, religious or gender identities. Our therapists reflect this though our personal and professional backgrounds with varying identities: Black, Multiracial, Military Family Members, LGBTQ Allied, Muslim, Christian, German, European, West African
