About My Clients
My clients are motivated, open-minded people seeking understanding and comfort in their bodies. Many of my clients have experienced trauma that prevents them from being able to feel their emotions or feel safe in their own skin. Some clients may have body dysmorphia or anxiety surrounding their changing bodies. Some clients may simply be looking for a way to express themselves using movement and dance!
My Background and Approach
I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Dance/Movement therapy. My certifications are Registered Dance/Movement Therapist and Registered Mental Health Clinician. I am currently only taking Dance/Movement Therapy clients. My goal is to walk the path of healing with you and show you how to reach an understanding and safety in your body. My passion is helping people who have experienced trauma or are undergoing a body transformation such as pregnancy, changing genders, or navigating a growing or aging body. My approach to Dance/Movement Therapy is beginning where you feel safe, and gradually stepping into exciting areas of growth and awareness with you leading the way. I work from a trauma-informed approach which means I take into account your personal experiences, beliefs, and values to inform our sessions and we will frequently check in to gauge comfortability.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a secular therapist and consider myself to have progressive viewpoints. All my therapeutic practices are conducted from a Feminist and trauma-informed perspective. In my personal beliefs, I support the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community and believe that all humans are created equal, across all genders, sexual orientations, and ethnicities. I am a vegetarian and a strong supporter of animal rights.
