About My Clients
Sometimes we need a little extra support. Maybe you feel like something just isn’t quite right, but you’re not sure what it is. Maybe you know what is causing some difficulty, like a big change, a loss, being hurt in a relationship, or trauma. Or maybe you have been feeling a lot of anxiety or stress lately. Life can bring challenges. In our work together I will help you uncover your strengths and capacity to heal.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in helping individuals slow down and take time to sort through thoughts and emotions. Oftentimes my clients have already done a lot of thinking about the topic, but it hasn’t had the result they are looking for. Somatic therapy can be a tool to “get out of our heads” and learn to listen to other information like the wisdom of the body. I draw from therapies including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and relaxation strategies, solution focused therapy, and play therapy. We'll collaborate to be clear about your goals and the best strategies to meet your goals. Reaching out to a therapist is a brave step! I’ll be here when you are ready to take that leap.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My training as a social worker informs a lot of how I view the world. I believe social and racial justice are critical to our collective wellbeing. I also believe that each person is valuable and worthy of respect and compassion.
