About My Clients
I enjoy helping clients who need guidance with grief and loss, terminal illness, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-care, and existential concerns or issues. Dealing with any of the above issues is to be expected through this experience called life but it is not expected to endure them all alone.
My Background and Approach
I received my Masters in Counseling from St. Edward's University and am a Certified Grief Informed Professional. I completed my internship at Hospice Austin and the St. Edward's Community Counseling Clinic and have also received training in End of Life Doula work. I use a collaborative and person-centered approach through a Humanistic lens where I meet clients where they are and help them get to where they want to be by non-judgemental and supportive empathy and promoting resilience. I use an integrative approach by incorporating several modalities and techniques to help each person in a unique and personalized way. I pull mainly from Existential Therapy, Person-Center (Rogerian) Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness Based Therapy and Meditation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health and should be prioritized and accessible to all. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally as well as an ally to the BIPOC community and am in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. I am committed to educating myself on multicultural and diversity counseling in order to practice competent and meaningful work with all individuals. I love animals and hope to incorporate Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) into my work one day. I have 3 wonderful dogs and a cat that occasionally pop in to telehealth sessions to say hello! I find purpose and joy through volunteer work that I hope to continue to immerse myself in throughout my career in some shape or form and also like to spend time with friends, lounge on the couch with a good Netflix show, and travel!
