About My Clients

You have been meaning to start therapy for a while, but the process is intimidating. OR… You've struggled to find a clinician who gets you. You feel lonely and empty. You are wrestling with understanding yourself and your identity. Even when things seem to be going well, it feels like something is missing. If this sounds like you, we'd probably be a good fit.

My Background and Approach

Rebecca at Grounded Counseling (that's me!) will help you with validation, practical suggestions, and once trust is established, deeper exploratory work. I will laugh at your jokes (if they're funny) and maybe make some (no guarantees they'll be funny). Those who know me describe me as warm, relatable and empowering. Collaborative and person-centered is how I would describe my approach. I enjoy working with LGBTQ+ folks, recovering co-dependents, and fellow social workers. I am a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed provider who loves treating millennials and Gen X. I’ve owned my private practice since 2019. It is truly an honor to do this work and be part of your mental health journey.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am an advocate for the LGBT+ and neurodivergent communities, and most of my clients hold one or more of these identities. I am WPATH trained, and write gender-affirming letters for Trans therapy clients. I seek clinical supervision for clients with racial trauma and other cultural issues that are outside of my lived experience and/or scope.
