About My Clients

Anxiety and depression often seem like insurmountable barriers keeping us from the life we want to lead, but if we are brave enough to open ourselves to change, painful experiences can become gateways for personal transformation. I work with clients on a range of issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, parenthood and grief. I identify as creative and highly sensitive (HSP) and enjoy working with clients who share these traits.

My Background and Approach

I see therapy as a collaborative effort, an exchange of perspectives and emotions through which we will unearth new meaning. I approach each client with humility and deep respect for their unique lived experiences. Your cues will guide the direction and pace of our work together. My practice is based on a foundation of attachment and psychodynamic theory, integrating aspects of EMDR and mindfulness-based therapies. I am trained in anti-oppressive, trauma-informed care. My background in advertising and documentary film has informed my understanding of narrative, human behavior, and the transformative potential of putting thoughts and feelings into words. The stories we tell both reflect and shape how we see ourselves and the world. This belief is at the heart of my clinical practice.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a social worker, I recognize the importance of identity, culture, and embodied experience within the mental health context and bring this perspective to my practice. I welcome the opportunity to work with and affirm all genders, sexualities, races and ethnicities. I work with each individual client to explore the impact of historical, biological and environmental factors on their present day lives and ability to connect with others.
