About My Clients

As a therapist, the main populations I work with are people who are neurodivergent, teens/adolescents and young adults. Within that population, many of the struggles that my clients come to therapy to help work on are life phase changes, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety and depression, among others. I bring a very person-centered, warm approach while gently challenging (or not so gently if needed) clients to help create a better mental health space for themselves and the future.

My Background and Approach

As someone who has struggled with their own mental health, has been in the field for around 5 years now, and taken many different continuing education courses, I approach mental health from many different points of view and approaches. Much of my approach comes from my personal love for the person-centered approach, as I really do believe the relationship you make with your therapist impacts the progress you make (and is very research backed) and is the way I would want my own therapist to approach therapy. I also bring in a number of different other theories, such as DBT, and recognize that no one approach fits every client. What works for one client might not work for you, and that is more than ok.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that therapy is for everyone and every has phases in their life where they need help- and that doesn't make you weak or bad or anything that anyone might say negatively. We can ALL change and grow as humans, and can unlearn the things we have previously, through no fault of our own, learned. There is never any judgement from me, no matter what we are working on, what you are sharing or what you are going through. We are all humans, unfortunately sometimes for us, and humans are not perfect. As I have mentioned in other areas, I myself am neurodivergent, have and still do struggle with my own mental health challenges, and respect very much so how hard it is to start therapy and make the changes. I want to help you at the start of your journey so you don't have to struggle alone, like many people unfortunately do. I promise to welcome all and don't discriminate against anyone.
