About My Clients
Have past experiences begun to affect how you feel in the present? Are stress, overwhelm, or difficult emotions becoming harder to manage? Therapy offers a safe, compassionate space to explore your experiences at your own pace while developing coping skills and greater self-understanding. I work with people from all walks of life and welcome and affirm trans, nonbinary, and LGBTQIA+ clients. Healing is a collaborative process, both in and outside of therapy.
My Background and Approach
I always tell my clients, “You have the tools; I just teach you how to use them.” I believe you already have strengths, resources, and abilities within you, and therapy can help you recognize those tools and learn how to use them in ways that support your well-being. My goal as your therapist is to provide you with practical techniques and strategies for navigating stress, trauma, and the day-to-day challenges life can bring. Together, we’ll explore what works best for you and build a personalized set of skills you can use both in and outside of therapy. We may talk about everything from coping mechanisms and emotional regulation to brain chemistry, mindfulness, and the ways our experiences can shape how we think, feel, and respond. I want therapy to be a place where you gain insight, learn practical skills, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I firmly believe that each person deserves a space to feel comfortable with all their feelings. I have worked hard to ensure my counseling sessions can be that space. I work a lot with LGBTQ+ clients, specifically with writing letters for clients who need surgery. I am part of the Gender Affirming Letter Access Project (GALAP) and set aside 2 appointments a month for letters for clients who are unable to afford a letter.
