About My Clients
My patients come from diverse backgrounds and identities, are often high-achieving, caring people who feel stretched too thin or weighed down by past experiences. They may be navigating the stress of life transitions, struggling with burnout, or working to heal from trauma. They come to therapy wanting to feel more grounded, present, and connected to themselves and to the people they love.
My Background and Approach
As a doctoral-level psychologist with over 13 years of experience, I provide therapy that is both evidence-based and deeply compassionate. My work is grounded in attachment theory and enriched by approaches such as EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and interpersonal neurobiology. I specialize in supporting individuals facing trauma, burnout, and the unique challenges of pregnancy and postpartum. I believe healing happens in a safe, collaborative relationship where you feel truly seen and understood. Together, we’ll work to help you feel grounded, connected, and empowered in your life and relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, valued, and truly understood. My approach is rooted in cultural humility and inclusivity, honoring how race, ethnicity, spirituality, and identity shape mental health. I’ve witnessed the toll that trauma, systemic racism, and minority stress can take, and the incredible resilience that emerges when people are truly seen. I’m proud to serve as Chair of the Michigan Psychological Association’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Responsibility Committee, and to have created a four-year Cultural Psychiatry curriculum for a psychiatry residency program. Outside of work, you’ll likely find me tending my victory garden or laughing with my family because I believe joy and connection are acts of resistance and essential ingredients for healing.
