About My Clients
I am passionate about neurodiversity, especially as it relates to autism, ADHD, and giftedness. I am also passionate about individuals within or allied to the LGBTQ+ community. Individuals I serve frequently navigate a societal system that has not been designed for them, leading to unique internal and external stressors.
My Background and Approach
I am a relational-cultural psychologist rooted in humanistic/existential therapies. My practice is person centered, focused on the here and now, and I believe we heal within healthy relationships. I also integrate CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and other modalities as needed. I have experience working with a variety of diagnoses, including autism, ADHD, anxiety and panic disorder, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder, and gender dysphoria. I have specialized in Autism, ADHD, and giftedness, as well as serving individuals from the LGBTQ+ community. I utilize principles of neurodiversity (the idea that there are natural divergences in the brain) to help me to understand and serve all individuals. I spent 10 years providing home based therapy to individuals with developmental disabilities, before going back to school for my doctorate. I currently have a PsyD with a master’s level license (LLP), and I am working towards becoming a fully licensed psychologist (LP).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I recognize the amazing strengths and qualities found in populations outside of the majority/typical, as well as the struggles. I have more recently recognized my own place on the spectrum. By understanding how individuals relate to others, the world, and themselves, I can foster growth and self-awareness for individuals. I believe therapy can be a place of empowerment and safe connection for all individuals.
