About My Clients
My specialty is working with children ages 3-10 who struggle with big emotions and behavioral challenges. I also support parents who want to learn techniques for managing their young children’s tough behaviors.
My Background and Approach
I’ve been working with children and families in various ways throughout my long career. I now focus on helping young children and their caregivers enjoy the early years and build strong, healthy relationships. As a clinical social worker with a post-graduate certificate in Child and Family Therapy, I bring a wide range of knowledge and experience to the families I support. And I also bring fun, warmth, and encouragement to every child and parent that I work with.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Because young children can’t always tell us what they’re thinking and feeling, adults need to tune in to all the ways that kids communicate. Children’s play, their behavior, their tone can say so much if we’re ready to listen. By giving my full attention and presence to a child in play therapy, I allow them to more fully express themselves. Children’s innate ability to grow and learn is nurtured in play therapy. I support parents in learning how to be more tuned-in and connected with their children, as well as how to set limits and communicate expectations and rules as effectively as possible.
