About My Clients
I have a strong passion to continue work with individuals that suffer from depression, anxiety, and survivors of trauma. Many of my clients come from marginalized populations such as, racial and gender minorities, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Due to this experience, I love to expand my knowledge about the members of these various groups during and outside of the counseling experience!
My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling is based on a perspective that each client are sociable and capable beings. During the counseling process, I help clients pinpoint how they would like to change and how that change could affect significant relationships. The therapy that helps me do so is called Adlerian therapy. I value the establishment of a strong client-counselor relationship that is built on trust and openness. As a result, clients can expect to have their issues discussed without fear of being judged or misunderstood. Also, a vital part of the counseling process includes the evaluation and expansion of client strengths. These values were strengthened I worked with various populations that include teenagers, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and survivors of trauma. Although clients attend counseling to address what is going wrong in their life, I firmly believes every client can make positive changes based on their unique strengths.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in respect, compassion, and connection with all people no matter what walk of life they may come from.
