Throughout my experience, I have worked with many individuals who attend college. Academics can be tough on their own, but I have found that when a person is stressed other insecurities can push their way to the top. As a result, I have worked side by side with clients to help them identify a lack of self-esteem and how it has affected their life. Through basic humanistic therapy principles, I help clients become aware of why they deserve to feel good about who they are.

Many clients come to therapy to work on anxious thoughts or the behaviors that come out of feeling anxious. Through the work of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I help clients examine the beliefs or fears that are at the heart of their anxiety. Once we acknowledge these fears, we can start to examine how true and concrete those beliefs or fears are. Although this process can be tedious, I'm here to help you reframe negative thinking patterns!

When working with individuals dealing through grief and loss, I offer a place to vent, as many times this is needed. I have found that it can be beneficial to help clients find a meaning to their loss. As a result, my long term goal is typically to help the client find a way to do so. Also, a focus of mine is to provide clients with grief psychoeducation, as it can be easy to get into our own head and forget that the grief process is unique to each and every one of us.

I value the establishment of a strong client-counselor relationship that is built on trust and openness. As a result, clients can expect to have their issues discussed without fear of being judged or misunderstood. Also, a vital part of the counseling process includes the evaluation and expansion of client strengths. These values were strengthened I worked with various populations that include teenagers, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and survivors of trauma.
