About My Clients

As a Gay Man, it’s a hard path to our authentic-self due to internal shame and living in a heteronormative society. We protect ourselves with methods including numbing pain with substances, overcompensating, and living a dual life. These strategies negatively influence our emotions, thoughts, and relationships. I help Gay Men who are struggling with their sexual orientation, lack of self-esteem, living in or out of the closet, living with HIV, relationship conflict, and more.

My Background and Approach

Since 2013, I have practiced psychotherapy supporting Gay Men through life transitions, healing trauma, and accepting all aspects of themself. As a Trauma Survivor, I know what it feels like to be a prisoner to your past. As a Cancer Survivor, I know what it feels like to be scared throughout treatment. As a Survivor of Addiction, I know what it feels like to abuse substances to mask pain. As a Member of the Latin X community, I know what it feels like to be marginalized in society. As a Member of the LGBTQ+ Community, I know what it feels like to hide your authentic self. My journey gives me insight to our shared humanity but doesn’t mean we had the same experience. It sets the foundation to build a therapeutic relationship to help us reach your treatment goals through a variety of methods including ACT, CBT, and EMDR. I’m grateful I had an experienced psychotherapist and wise teachers to guide me through my darkest moments. My goal is to be one of those beacons of Light for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My own personal journey through psychotherapy helped me unveil unprocessed pain which allowed me to discover my inner power. I maintain my balance through meditation, yoga, and reading books such as The Power of Now, Dearing Greatly, and The Power of Intention. I believe we all have the capacity to change. I believe the process of psychotherapy shines light in the darkness to reveal our power. Our society shames men who show emotion. Let me tell you, there is no shame in getting help or being vulnerable. As Gay Men, we don’t realize the inner strength it takes to live in or out of the closet, to live with or at risk for HIV, and to date or build a relationship in Gay Culture. My practice focuses on providing counseling to Gay Individuals and Couples seeking a new path through skill development. I believe we have the skills needed to own our life but sometimes we get lost and need a guide. I feel my calling is to be the guide I wish I had in my past.
