About My Clients
My clients tend to be men, women trying to better understand the men in their lives, and couples. Often we are find ourselves exploring questions of meaning and purpose, and building skills to more confidently and effectively communicate in high-stakes, emotionally-fraught environments. I also often support people of all genders improve cognitive function and get relief from anxiety, depression, and/or ADHD using neurofeedback training.
My Background and Approach
I work from an existential-humanistic orientation, which is just a fancy way of saying that I believe every person is unique, valuable, and has purpose. For many people, discovering that purpose is the difference between a satisfying life and an empty one. For others, fulfilling their purpose gets messy and hard. In both cases (and many others) it can be helpful to talk it all through with a trusted therapist. With training in neuropsychology including the use of cognitive assessments and electroceuticals, I can often help in situations where talk therapy alone falls short. Trouble with attention/concentration, migraines, TBI recovery, and trauma can often be treated with a combination of therapy and neurofeedback.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person is unique and deserving of individualized care. I believe that there is a right-fit therapist for you (and it may or may not be me). I believe everyone should have someone in their corner, rooting for them without a hint of competition or judgement. I believe the best therapy sessions include deep laughter.
