About My Clients
If you are at the age of 12-90, and feeling all over the place, overwhelmed, and burnt out with a possible guilt attack, you have found the right therapist! Maybe, struggling to just get through the day and feeling frustrated from being misunderstood. I hear you. You want to improve your self-confidence and self-esteem but do not know where to start. I wonder if you are carrying mental and emotional pain 24/7 and do not know what to do about it. I am here to guide you to new possiblities.
My Background and Approach
I received my master’s degree in social work from Simmons School of Social Work in Boston, Massachusetts. I have thousands of hours of experience preparing for, working with, and helping people reach a milestone where they can confidently manage their symptoms on their own independent of my support. As an LMHCA, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Person-centered Therapy. Sometimes I weave in Reality Therapy to ensure we, as a team, stay focused in your present life which is of upmost important when discovering and uncovering strong emotions safely. Right now, I am deepening my understanding of CBT and gradually weaving in a few other modalities to my tool belt, and then I will be diving into Reality Therapy next. I chose these modalities because of how they reinforce one another and together create a cohesive therapeutic process. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Though I am not associated with any communities or movements, I can provide resources and support where you need it. I do have my own beliefs and values I strongly adhere to. I am a strong believer of others perspectives and try to see situations as 'glass half full'. Life experiences of my personal and professional life so far has taught me to stick to the actual meaning of the said words and seek clarification of the message received. I believe communications skills can either lead to building of meaningful relationships or break existing ones no matter how old. I am interested in helping people build emotion regulation skills to smoothly turn around difficult conversations, and establishing healthy boundaries to gain back control of their sense of self. I use a collaborative approach where we work as a team to empower you to establish and demonstrate understanding towards others without the need to agreeing or disagreeing with them.
