About My Clients
I have over a decade of experience working with queer and trans people from a variety of backgrounds. I've worked with a spectrum of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, shame, feelings of stuckness, dissociation, visions and hallucinations, racial trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD, coming out/transition, religious trauma and migration trauma.
My Background and Approach
I believe relationships are powerful tools for making meaning, transformation and healing. My practice is rooted in psychodynamic and relational theories as well as the liberation health tradition. I focus on to the here-and-now while remaining open and curious about your past and unconscious motivations. This often involves attending to the ways intergenerational stories, difficulties, losses and traumas live in the present and in our relationship. It is difficult but vital work to turn towards our feelings, bodies, histories, desires and fears. I would be an honor to walk with you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At the center of my work is the belief that each of us has a right to self determination. I am committed to seeing you as a whole person and not as a pathology. I believe your symptoms hold important messages we can learn to listen to together. None of us live outside of our historical, political or social context. I strive to bring my attention to the systems of institutional violence that affect our minds, our bodies, our communities and the land.
