Sometimes people have problems that are getting in the way of the relationship and life you want. Infidelity, lack of intimacy, unhelpful communication, misunderstandings, anxiety, depression, grief: these are all things that can create problems in a relationship. I truly believe that problems don't have to last and that things can get better.
My Background and Approach
As a Narrative Therapist, my job is to help separate you and your relationship from the problem. Narrative Therapy is a respectful, non-blaming form of counseling that approaches our therapeutic work together with the belief that you are the expert in your own life. Stories have always been an important part of my life. As a broadcaster and later as an educator and therapist I have always been in awe of how powerful stories can be. The stories we tell about ourselves, the stories we tell about others, and the stories others tell about us -- all of these shape how we see the world and our place in it. When the stories we are living aren't working anymore that's when counseling can help. As a therapist, my job is to work with you to challenge those unhelpful stories that are clouding up your life and rewrite them so the sun can break through.
