About My Clients
In a world filled with expectations and judgment, it is amazing that any of us make it through the day without going completely insane. Most of us barely make it out alive and are left buried in anxiety about being good enough, our children being bad kids, our friends and family not understanding us, and exasperation as we try to keep the whole family together while navigating the world of judgment.
My Background and Approach
I use neuroscience and the natural power of play to help us find and express our authentic self. This process of exploration is messy and difficult, but I stick with you and your family every step of the way to help you stay regulated, courageous, and connected while we find the authentic you and build the skills to express that authenticity in your everyday life. Adults find parts of them they long forgot, and along with those parts they find peace and joy. They also recognize their inner strengths and are empowered to grow these strengths and feel more confident and comfortable with who they are. Parents learn about their children on the deepest level and gain strategies to help children use their strengths to navigate our world in a healthy, happy, and successful way. Children connect with their body experience, build regulation skills, and learn to communicate with the adults around them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Palestinian-American Muslim, who grew up in the Alief community, I work well with many different cultures and bring a culturally sensitive approach to my practice, recognizing the importance of honoring one’s background and beliefs in the therapeutic process. I am deeply committed to promoting mental health awareness and destigmatizing seeking help for psychological concerns within the Muslim community and beyond. I value cultural competence and strive to create a therapeutic environment where individuals feel understood, respected, and supported on their journey toward healing and personal growth.
