About My Clients

I love working with both Gen-Z and millennials as they go through the life stages of adulthood. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, trauma, and LGBTQIA sexuality. A lot of my clients are like me: first-generation Americans, Members of the LGBTQIA community, and the BIPOC community. Many of the individuals I see struggle with the societal impacts of being a minority while trying to break through the barriers of generational trauma.

My Background and Approach

Working with me involves exploring the complexities of your identity, coping with oppression and discrimination, and navigating relationship, family, and cultural challenges. When you are in my office, we work at your pace. I will encourage you to embrace your true self and ensure you feel safe and comfortable. My practice philosophy is driven by three things: 1. Everyone deserves better mental health, 2. Therapy has healing powers, and 3. Normal is a setting on a washing machine. If this resonates with you and you’re ready to explore, please contact me. I’d love to begin this therapeutic journey with you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My background is unlike most therapists. I am a first-generation South Asian American, born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I became a counselor after going to therapy myself. It allows me to speak from the heart about its impacts on my life, and I hope to echo those experiences for you. I promise it's impossible for me to pass judgment, and here's why: As a politically progressive person, I value science when researching relevant causes, not bias. As a child of Muslim immigrants, I continue to be sensitive to cultures and stigmas, including religions. As a member of the LGBTQIA community, I respect and encourage the exploration of sexual preferences and sex-positive/kink-friendly talk. Fighting racism, homophobia, and transphobia is essential to safety. I have a passion for interior design, and when I am not in session, I am pampering my three dogs: Jack, Tucker, and Pepper. I know it's not easy spilling your guts to a stranger. I hope this helped to connect with me on a deeper level.
