About My Clients
I am particularly invested in working with trans and queer folks and those whose relationship structures and identities are not always validated by dominant. Most of my work is focused both assisting folks exploring their gender and providing support through their transition, as well as, supporting clients with a wide range of sexual health concerns including couples' relational and sexual concerns, low desire, orgasmic concerns, erectile dysfunction, out of control sexual behavior and more.
My Background and Approach
I strive to always be learning and growing and am excited to join clients where they are at- with warmth, empathy, honesty, humility and a good sense of humor. My style is highly relational and focused on connection to self and growth from shame. I have a special interest in attachment and contemporary psychoanalytic psychotherapy and view most of this work through the lens of queer & post-modern theory. I currently receive sexual health and gender specialty supervision from Tera Jansen, PsyD, LP, CST and am on the journey to become a certified sex therapist. Additionally, I am a candidate at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society & Institute's (MPSI) Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program (PPTP). I studied clinical social work at the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities where I interned at the Queens Center for Gay Seniors and Twin Cities Counseling Coop. In addition, I have a bachelor’s degree in Gender, Sexualities, and Women’s Studies from Augsburg University.
