About My Clients

My Background and Approach
We might work well together if you’re looking for someone who is going to show up authentically, but be direct, validating and affirming. The hope for me is that we will have a genuine relationship because I am going to show up as a human being and not the ‘blank-slate-robot-therapist’ that grad school teaches us to be. I will probably use swear words in session (as long as you’re comfortable with that), I’ll dress the way I feel most comfortable and I will probably be coloring or fidgeting along with you if that is something you find helpful.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I think it is important for you as the client to know your therapist’s values so that you can make an informed decision about if they are going to be the right fit for you and truly be an affirming safe space for you to seek support. The main value that I think is important to note is that I believe in advocating for systemic change to address and dismantle inequities and injustices faced by marginalized communities. I'd love to answer any questions you have about my values and beliefs during an initial consultation or in any future sessions we might have together.
