About My Clients
My areas of interest include but are not limited to clients affected by divorce, LGBTQ+ clients or clients with LGBTQ+ loved ones who are navigating distress and loss in family relationships, and clients struggling with ambiguity, loss, and the weightiness of life. I consider it an honor to work with all ages. I provide individual, couples, and family counseling.
My Background and Approach
I approach counseling with the first hand knowledge that asking for help and support in times of sorrow and brokenness can be a huge first step towards healing and hope. I have four adult children and a high schooler, as well as two grandchildren. I am informed by my decade of experience in the elementary and middle school setting and by my Master of Arts in Counseling degree.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
For many of us, there comes a day when we wake up to the reality that life is far outside our control. Living the good life is not something we can make happen, no matter how hard we try, or perhaps, because of how hard we try. For some of us this reality has been ever present: things have been really painful, unjust and heavy for a really long time. For some of us, a few key events have brought this truth home. Counseling is a chance for us to face this truth in, and with, the presence of another. It’s the opportunity to accept this reality without losing hope and to grow stronger and find healing and flourishing.
