People with learning disorders such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia and executive functioning issues often have gifts on the flip side that are buried deep within after years of being told they "aren't trying hard enough." Over time they begin to fuse with the thought that they are stupid when in fact many are highly intelligent. I offer parent coaching and support to help children with learning disorders reach their fullest potential. I provide advocacy, support and therapy to help address deficits and build on strengths to improve overall sense of competence and self esteem. I also refer to local community resources and specialists (occupational/speech therapy, developmental optometrists, educational specialists) as needed.

I provide individual therapy and couples counseling to introverts and highly sensitive people who struggle with managing deep emotions, feeling easily overwhelmed or overstimulated. The flip side of the HSP trait may be a strong sense of justice or empathy or noticing details that others often miss. There are tools that we can learn to help cope with the overwhelming feelings and sensitivities while honoring the strengths that go along with the HSP trait.

I have an eclectic theoretical perspective and create planned change through a problem solving process. I am creative, flexible and solution focused.

I use a narrative approach to therapy which is non-blaming and separates problems from people. I am collaborative.

I do not provide "pure DBT" which must include a DBT skills training group in addition to individual DBT therapy to be truly DBT. However, I teach clients skills from the DBT modules to help clients be present with their lived experience and move towards valued living or "what matters."

With the transformative approach of Internal Family Systems (IFS), I provide effective treatment for anxiety.
