About My Clients

In the midst of a global pandemic, crisis, and everyday challenges, it can feel safer to turn to self-destruction than to move towards healing. My goal is to help you walk through fear while maintaining a safe, grounded, validating foundation. I help clients figure out what’s getting in the way of their healing journey, and work with them to overcome obstacles, set appropriate boundaries, and practice self-compassion.

My Background and Approach

I work with clients to create a safe, non-judgmental, warm and compassionate space to feel feelings. Often, experiencing emotions can be uncomfortable (if not downright terrifying), my hope is to be able to sit with and bear witness to client’s experiences and emotions while offering support and reflection. I work from the assumption that clients are the experts on their own experience, and we will walk together towards a recovery that feels right for each individual person. I work through a person-centered lens and my goal is to provide unconditional positive regard for clients. I offer a few different modalities and go with what works best with the client’s needs. The modalities I use are: EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, CBT, DBT, and ACT.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that every person has the capacity to grow and heal. I find that most mental health issues stem from our best efforts to keep ourselves safe and stable, that we continue to engage in these behaviors because they work on some level, and that, when we're ready, we can learn to let go of these behaviors and find less self-destructive ways of coping. I have lived experience in recovery from substance use and an eating disorder, as well as coping with anxiety and depression. I believe that each person has the tools they need to recover and heal within them, and it's my job to empower and guide you to find them and bring them to the surface. I support the Black Lives Matter movement and the LGBTQ+ community.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
I have experience with the following
  • Agnosticism
  • Atheism
  • Buddhism
  • Christianity
  • Judaism
