About My Clients
In this uniquely disorienting time, many of us are anxious, depressed, and full of dread and confusion. In an effort to escape these uncomfortable feelings, it's easy to numb out and focus our attention from the neck up. By becoming friendly with our physical realities and bodily-felt experiences, we can safely reconnect to our fullness, expand our choices for how to be in the world, and experience greater wellbeing. Let's work together to build the inner resources that will help you thrive.
My Background and Approach
I'm licensed in New York State as a Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT); I received my MS from Pratt Institute in Dance/Movement Therapy. My guiding belief is that "bodyfulness," movement, and creative expression can help us feel better, experience and bring together different parts of ourselves, and connect to a deeper sense of meaning. Bodyfulness is a play on mindfulness: the state of attending to our inner and outer bodily sensations and their role in our sense of self and feelings of wellness. I collaborate with clients to explore the tools that work for them. This might mean talking, various forms of creative expression and play, body-focused engagement through structured and free movement and exercises that help clients use and experience their bodies in new ways, and even learning about human physiology and lifestyle interventions a la Andrew Huberman. I draw from a wide range of resources to understand and respond to the personal and universal human issues we all face.
